Eel River Cemetery

Date:  August 29, 2009                                                     Time:  2100 - 2300

Weather:  Warm, slight breeze.  Ground did have a heavy dew on it

Research:  Eel River called Ke-na-po-co-mo-co or "River of the snake fish" by Native Americans, is a tributary of the Wabash River in Indiana.  Later it was called L'Anguille River.  It rises southeast of Huntertown and flows 110 miles to join the Wabash river in Logansport.

At the site of the Eel River Cemetery on October 19, 1790, Miami indians under command of Chief Michikinikwa also known as Little Turtle, surprised and vitually annihilated a U.S. force under Colonel John Hardin.

Along the river:

November 1780 - A militia force under Auguste Mottin de la Balme, who planned to seize a British trading post on the Eel River near present-day Columbia City was destroyed by Miami indians under Chief Little Turtle.

August 7, 1791 - General James Wikinson destroyed the Miami indian town of Kenapacomaqua, six miles upstream from present-day Logansport.

September 1812 - Colonel James simrall, acting under orders from General William Henry Harrison, ravaged Miami farms and villages along the Eel in present day Whitley County, defeating a Miami force that stayed behind and fought.

Observations:

Although we had some personal experiences we were unable to capture any scientific evidence during THIS trip to the cemetery.

Conclusions:

Based solely on this ghost hunt, we did not have any paranormal evidence but in past trips we have.  This could be a factor of timing, weather, personnel, or a ton of different reasons.  We will be visiting this site again in the future to try and repeat past findings of this active area.
